Five specialist teams work towards the same mission. Each level removes some scaffolding until the agency can take a real requirement and decide how to deliver it.
Space for Everyone
A space mission needs builders, planners, experimenters, coders, analysts, storytellers, designers and people who can coordinate others. Spacecrafted gives those different strengths a shared purpose.
Students join one of five specialist teams. The teams are different, but they are not five separate STEM projects: they depend on each other to complete one agency mission.
One agency. Five stages.
The atmosphere is the progression map. The mission changes at each level, while responsibility moves steadily from teacher scaffolding towards student judgement and independence.
FIRST LAUNCH
Prepare and conduct the agency's first safe, measured water-rocket launch.
IMPROVE THE LAUNCH
Build on the first launch and demonstrate evidence-based improvements.
TEST PILOT
Build and fly a more complex test vehicle and investigate performance, recovery and capability gaps.
WEATHER MISSION
Plan, resource and conduct a real environmental mission using interacting systems.
MISSION ON DEMAND
Translate an external requirement into a safe, reliable and repeatable mission with minimal teacher direction.
